Frequently asked questions

How many UK university courses does MyRevisionAgent cover?

31,335 live undergraduate courses from 343 universities and colleges, as of June 2026. 31,092 of them are at 341 UK providers: 24,744 courses in England, 3,965 in Scotland, 2,144 in Wales and 239 in Northern Ireland, across all 12 UK regions. The remaining 243 are at two providers outside the UK and are left out of every UK figure on this page. 343 is a count of the providers with live courses in our index, not a claim to cover every UK institution.

Where does the course data come from?

From two sources: the UCAS course listings, which supply the structured entry requirements, and 22,862 course pages on the universities' and colleges' own websites, which we read page by page with robots.txt honoured (129 pages were skipped because a site asked us not to fetch them). 25,890 courses (82.6%) carry text from their provider's own page as well as the UCAS listing. We hold no HESA, Discover Uni or National Student Survey data, and MyRevisionAgent is independent of UCAS - UCAS is a source, not a partner.

What IB points do UK universities ask for?

Across the 15,822 courses in our index that publish an IB offer, the median offer is 32 points, half of all offers fall between 28 and 35, and the full range runs from 22 to 45. By subject area the median is 34 for Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Languages, 32 for Law, Economics, History and Biological Sciences, 31 for Business, 29 for Computing and 27 for Creative Arts and Design. These are the typical published offers in each area, not what any particular course asks for - always check the course page.

How many courses list their entry requirements?

28,367 courses (90.5%) publish UCAS tariff points, 20,720 (66.1%) an A-level offer and 15,822 (50.5%) an IB points offer, so 21,988 courses (70.2%) carry a structured grade offer we can line your predicted grades up against. The median tariff offer is 112 points. The most common A-level offer is ABB (3,912 courses), followed by BBC, AAB, BBB and AAA. Where a course publishes no offer, the tools say so rather than guessing.

How current is the data?

31,081 of the 31,335 courses (99.2%) are listed for 2026 entry. The index was built in June 2026 and is rebuilt each application cycle; every figure on this page is stamped with that date and re-measured on each rebuild. Offers change between cycles, so treat the numbers as planning guidance and confirm the live requirement on the course page and on UCAS before you apply.

Which subject areas have the most courses?

Business and Management, with 3,755 courses at 270 providers, then Engineering (2,445), Computing (2,437), Languages and Linguistics (1,774) and Nursing and Health (1,729). Every course is filed under one of 26 broad subject areas, with an "Other" bucket for the 861 that fit none. The smallest areas are Veterinary (124 courses) and Agriculture (134).

Can the AI tools invent a course that does not exist?

No. Every recommendation is drawn from this fixed index of 31,335 real courses: a deterministic full-text search narrows the field first, and the AI only re-ranks and explains the finalists. Grade-to-tariff conversion, offer matching and the UCAS choice rules run in plain code, not in a language model. Our automated evaluations check that no invented degree appears in a result. On an internal 55-case benchmark of deliberately indirect queries, a query-understanding step raised retrieval quality from 0.68 to 0.84 NDCG@8 - an internal retrieval figure, not a guarantee of results for any individual student.

Can I browse the data myself?

Yes. The course directory and the university directory on this site let you search and filter the same index the AI tools read, free and without an account, and every course page links to the provider's official page. There is no public download or API: the index is rebuilt from the sources each cycle and served through our own tools.
